Ethan Osborne is back home from firefighting! Read his last fire season journal entry. And please join him this Sunday 2-4pm for a meet and greet for candidates running for local office!

From Ethan Osborne, the Captain of the Kentucky Pirate Party, who’s running as the Independent candidate for US House of Representatives KY-4:

It’s great to be back home to my old Northern Kentucky home after completing my deployment on the west coast fighting wildfires. It was one of the biggest challenges of my life since my service in the USMC, both physically and mentally, but it was a success, and my mission there is complete. Now, another great challenge lies ahead: I am nearing the end of my narrow and challenging campaign trail for US House of Representatives KY-4. I am a mere working-class peasant going up against the corporate power elites of both parties, and most notably the fascist GOP who controls this district. This may seem like a futile effort, a fool’s errand, and a waste of time: sheer adventurism. I beg to differ. I believe I have a fighting chance, and although I have scant resources and 0 funding, I will fight like my life depends on it to win, for the benefit of my community, state, country, and planet. The actions of one individual can change the course of history, and although I face near certain defeat, this is just the beginning for me, and I will never give up on my dreams.

This Sunday, on October 9th, from 2 until 4 pm, I will be attending a meet and greet for candidates running for local office. This event will be held at the new Roebling Point Books & Coffee shop in Newport. The address is 601 Overton St, Newport Kentucky. It’s on the corner of East 6th Street and Overton. I would like to thank Joe Gallenstein (joegallenstein.wordpress.com, and @JoeGallenstein on twitter) for inviting me to this event. I really hope to meet with other candidates and local constituents and have lively and productive discussions!!!
